From Rome to Athens!!
Arch Academy students departed to Rome, Italy and met up with EF Tours directors in April. They took a guided tour of Vatican City, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica while they were there, tasting authentic Italian food and exploring a city full of tradition and history.  As they explored the ancient city of Rome, students and teachers also visited the Forum Romanum, Colosseum, and the Pantheon. After seeing all that Rome had to offer with its history and social relevance, they then departed to the city of Pompeii where they were to visit the Roman ruins. On day five, they traveled to Puglia and then boarded an overnight ferry to Patras to discover the ancient remains of the Olympia.  Students observed the Olympia Museum and then continued on to Argolida.  Students received a guided tour of Epidaurus, Mycenae, and the Corinth Canal.  The group then continued on to Athens to experience the Olympic Stadium, Acropolis, and the Parthenon.  They  also signed up for an extension tour and cruise of the Greek islands to visit Mykonos, Patmos, Rhodes,Crete, and the beautiful Santorini. On return back to the San Diego the students spoke of their experience and what they had witnessed helping them appreciate the history of Rome and Greece.
